There is no getting around it – Pinterest is here to stay. And no matter what type of business you have, figuring out how to use Pinterest to promote your business is essential. Just start looking at your business in a whole new colorful way.
Use creative imagery – Make the images in your blog posts relevant to your post. You can even include words on the image, such as a quote from the blog post or a motivational quote. It helps to watermark your images too with your domain name or business name. There are several easy-to-use online programs, such as Canva and PicMonkey, that can help you create great images to accompany your blog posts.
Make infographics from data – Do you deal with a lot of numbers? Create infographics that catch people’s eyes. If your infographic is compelling enough it will be re-pinned on Pinterest and shared across other social media networks. Use Piktochart to create infographics quickly and easily.
Announce events – Create beautiful invitations or announcements with graphics software and pin them on Pinterest. Whether it’s an online event or an in-person event, use Pinterest to announce it.
Create themed boards – Don’t pin everything on the same board. Instead, create themed boards. For instance, if you have a service-based business, you could create a different board for each service. Think outside the box and pin the benefits of your services instead of what you actually do.
Re-pin other people’s pins – It’s only polite to stop the shameless self-promotion occasionally and re-pin someone else’s pins. Not only that, comment freely on other pins too. The more you re-pin and make relevant comments or additions to other people’s boards, the more they will do the same for you.
Be yourself – It’s okay to have a little fun on Pinterest, even when you’re marketing your business. Share freely about who you are , what your goals are, and what your business does, and you’ll be surprised at the snowball effect that is created.
Finally, don’t be intimidated if you find it difficult to translate your business into images. Find ways to think outside the box to incorporate imagery into your business. Find out which lifestyle and interests your audience has and cater to those. You also can use Pinterest as a research tool and a way to organize your thoughts about products and services that you want to offer in the future.
