Even though most consumers are savvy enough to realize that a lot of email marketing is automated, they still respond better to more personalization. So it’s imperative that you use your email software to its fullest potential by using as much personalization as it’s capable of providing.
Craft interest-targeted email messages – Use your email software to capture the information you need to personalize email messages toward topics that your subscribers want to know about. Then craft messages that point your subscribers to the products and services they want.
Create geocentric messages – Location-based information from your subscribers can be used to market events in your subscribers’ areas and to encourage them to visit your location if you have a local brick-and-mortar business.
Let them define which information they want – Send a poll to subscribers to let them define the information they want to get. This is a good way to find out exactly what your subscribers need and want to hear from you.
Acknowledge purchases made – Each time a purchase is made, acknowledge it with a thank you and then move that subscriber off the list that keeps promoting that item. If your subscribers feel like you’re harassing them to buy something they already have, they won’t respond too well when you market something new to them.
Use retargeting technology – When someone visits buys something, it’s important to retarget them to buy something more. When your user receives your email and opens it, a software program can be used to install a cookie that will allow specialized ads to be delivered to the user when they visit various webpages.
Ask for reviews for products purchased – After you give your customers enough time to use your product or service, request a product review. The form they fill out for the review should also ask for more information about them that you can use for further targeted marketing.
